Wine is considered to be one of the most sophisticated drinks in the world. It is rich in flavor but yet so simple. Its diversity comes from the different kinds of grapes, where it is grown and in what method is produced.

Wine is an alcoholic drink made from fermented grapes or other suitable fruits. The natural chemical balance of grapes causes them to ferment without the adding any external ingredients like acids, enzymes, water, sugars, etc. Yeast converts the sugars in the grapes into alcohol and carbon-di-oxide the type of wine depends on the variety of Grapes and Yeast used during production.

Enjoy to your hearts delight by choosing the wine which best fits your taste.

Different Types of Wine:

The most famous of wines are white and red wines, followed by rose and sparkling wines.

Red Wine

Red wine is said to be the most classic in the kingdom of wines, mixing the delicious red grapes with a wide range of aromas, from oak to eucalypti, chocolate or even mint hints.

A glass of red wine is classy, but can also easily suit any occasion. It can be a great addition to a pizza or pasta at lunch, served as an appetite booster before meals, and of course tastes great with just about any dish in the world.

White Wine:

White wine is produced from white grapes, produced mostly in Europe, and numerous other places such as Australia, California, New Zealand, South Africa, etc.

The large varieties of white grapes are deliciously combined with citrus and spicy flavors, and the wine thus produced makes a great pair for seafood and continental dishes.

The color of white wine isn’t always white; some varieties of white wine are yellow or golden. Being more delicate than red wine, it is served in narrower glasses to allow enhanced concentration of aroma.

Rose Wine:

Rose wines are a softer version of the red wine; most of them are produced from red grapes. Just like red and white wines, the rose palette is quite diverse, from light to crisp aromas, to spicy and full bodied.

Sparkling Wine:

Sparkling wine adds more luxury to every good wine, through a fizzy/bubbly texture. The sweetness of the sparkling wine is determined by the amount of sugar added after the subsequent fermentation as well as how aged the wine is. Sparkling wine normally stands out because of its fizzy appearance as well as the fizziness in the wine taste, due to the significant amount of carbon dioxide.

Fortified Wine:

Fortified wine is a wine that has been blended with liquor. The liquor most commonly used for this is Brandy which is basically just a distilled wine. It provides fortified wines higher alcohol content than normal wine (usually more than %15 ABV) as well as a distinct flavor.

Dessert Wine:

These are sweet wines and as the name suggests, they are generally served with desserts. A thumb rule for choosing a wine is that it must be sweeter than the dessert being served with.

There are enough types of wine in the world to fit every taste and every budget. A glass of wine suits every occasion, and pairs well with meals and deserts. Have fun trying the different wine types, and find the one that best suits your taste buds.
